Sleep, sweet sleep

A whole night of uninterrupted sleep for the Jandernals! Woo hoo! Little Bradley has been battling another ear infection since last week, so it's been a pretty rough week. He's on antibiotics and they seem to be helping but we could definitely tell he wasn't feeling well. Along with the ear infection came a nasty cough, which has been the worst symptom by far. Our baby who slept through the night was replaced by a baby (just as cute though!) who would wake up 2 or 3, or 7, times per night. It was rough on everyone, and we hated seeing him unhappy. Hopefully Bradley is starting to feel better and this ear infection will go away once and for all. And hopefully there will be more nights of sleeping from 9:30 to 6:45 in our future! Looking forward to a fun three-day weekend with our little monkey!

Sweet potatoes!

No explanation needed for this one ...

Bradley's BFF

This past weekend we got to spend some time with the Corrados, it had been so long since we had seen them so it was great to get together. And with Bradley and Joshua being only 5 days apart we were excited to get the boys together! It was funny when we stood them up next to each other - Joshua is so much taller than Bradley, and Bradley is so much more chunky than Joshua. Check out the pictures ...

Bradley also got to play with Addison too, his future babysitter!

Before leaving, Bradley and Joshua modeled this green and white hat - the pictures are too cute not to share!

I can't wait to see these two little ones as they grow up together!

We discovered over the weekend that Bradley is ticklish! It's so cute, he's very ticklish under his arms. And his laugh is getting better every day, it's almost a full-on laugh but not quite. For weeks now Bradley has been on the verge of rolling over from back to stomach ... he'll get on his side and be so close but then rolls onto his back again. Well, on Monday he finally did it! I think he was pretty proud of himself when he did, I know Mommy and Daddy were very proud of him. Here are a couple pictures of Bradley playing on his mat -

Five Months Old

Bradley is five months old today! He's growing so fast, it's crazy. I took his 5-month pictures when he woke up this morning so he was still a little sleepy, but they're cute. Today was "sports day" at school so we dressed him in his Rays romper, I'm sure he's having fun playing with his little friends today. Here are the 5-month pictures, the one-eye-open one cracks me up!

I also played around with the black and white feature on the photo editing website that I use and this is what I came up with:

Mother's Day

My very first Mother's Day! Yay! It was such a great day, and a great weekend all around.

Saturday night some friends of ours were having a "Celebacon" - in other words a bacon party. When I first showed Dan the invitation he was pretty excited because there aren't many things he loves more than bacon. Dan's idea was to make a giant BLT sandwich, which is exactly what he did. The giant sandwich looked delicious, then we cut them into smaller pieces and put toothpicks in them to keep the B, the L and the T all together. The party was a lot of fun and there were lots of kids there. We walked in with Bradley and saw babies and car seats everywhere, and then older kids out by the pool and swing set. At one point it was a bit chaotic because there were 2 or 3 (or maybe 4, who knows) kids crying all at the same time for different reasons. Amazingly it wasn't any of the babies, it was the older kids. But back to the bacon ... we were a little disappointed there weren't more bacon dishes since that was the theme of the party, but the food was great. The hosts, Brittany and Drew, made some amazing Jamaican Jerk pork wrapped in bacon. It was delicious!

Now on to Mother's Day! Dan woke up around 6:00, took the baby monitor, and let me sleep in - a wonderful way to start the day. When I woke up I found gifts from Dan and Bradley in the living room. Dan got me the sewing machine I've been wanting, and in Bradley's box was a cute "I love Mom" outfit and a pretty Coach wristlet. Oh, and last Friday Bradley "made" me a Mother's Day card at school. It was the typical smeared paint card that kids make, and I love it soooo much! Later that day Dan took Bradley over to Granma and Granpa's house so we could get a few things done around the house, then we picked Bradley up and went to Yiayia's house so she could spend a little time with her great-grandson. Bradley had a good time playing with her, then it was back to Granma and Granpa's house for Mother's Day dinner with my mom, Gram, BJ and the Bozzas. The boys did an excellent job of preparing dinner and we had a great time. All in all it was a great weekend and I couldn't have asked for a better First Mother's Day!

Carrots!

As you can probably guess by the post title, Bradley tried carrots for the first time yesterday. And he loved them! I thought he liked the peas, but that was nothing compared to the carrots. Bradley devoured his entire bowl in just a few minutes. I tried a little bit and I must say it was pretty tasty. Unlike the peas, yuck. The only downside to the carrots was that after Bradley decided it would be fun to rub his bib all over his face, the carrots actually started turning his skin orange. As Dan put it "carrot face to go with the carrot top!"

Peas!

Bradley likes peas! Since he was so good at eating oatmeal and seemed to really enjoy it, we decided to move on to some real baby food. We decided to go with peas first because I had read that if you start a baby on the yummy food like apples and bananas and pears, then it might be harder to get them to like veggies because they're used to the sweet fruit. So peas it was. I thought Bradley would want nothing to do with it once I poured it into his bowl, because truthfully I think I would have a hard time eating that stuff. But he ate it right up! Dan took a couple pictures of Bradley with his peas, and then a few minutes later Bradley managed to smear peas all over his face by rubbing his bib on his face. Such a funny baby!
